Rating of Nursing and Paramedical Institutes in Uttar Pradesh
‘Reforming Nursing and Paramedical Institutions through a Standardized Rating System’

Introduction :
The Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) is
                committed to strengthening the nursing
ecosystem by enhancing the quality of
education and training through key reforms,
including the systematic rating of nursing
                and paramedical institutes to ensure
                consistent standards across the state.
Central to this initiative is the Uttar Pradesh
                State Medical Faculty (UPSMF), the
                regulatory authority for these institutes,
which has introduced a data-driven rating
framework to evaluate institutions based on
                infrastructure, faculty, teaching processes,
                and student outcomes. This transparent
                system highlights institutional strengths and
                areas for improvement, promotes
                continuous quality enhancement, and
provides students and parents with reliable
                information for informed decision-making,
thereby contributing to a stronger and more
                accountable healthcare education system in
                the state.

Scoring and Grading Methodology :
Nursing and Paramedical institutes in Uttar Pradesh were evaluated through self-assessments validated
                by
certified national accreditation body, covering infrastructure, faculty, teaching processes, and
                outcomes.
The collected data was analyzed and normalized using standard deviation to ensure fairness and
comparability across institutions. Aggregate scores were calculated based on all applicable course
                ratings,
and standardized scores were used to assign performance grades on a defined scale:

                Grade A (1.50 to 3.00), B (0.75 to 1.50), C (-0.75 to 0.75), D (-1.50 to -0.75), and E (-3.00 to -1.50).
                This
transparent grading framework enables consistent evaluation and highlights areas for improvement.
