Admissions | Online centralized process based on meritocracy
Overview
Nursing and Paramedical institutes across the state offer various courses in nursing
such as A.N.M and G.N.M and various courses in paramedical such as diploma in optometry, lab technician,
OT technician, etc. However, the admissions process for these courses was beset with information
asymmetry. There was a lack of transparency and standardization in the process, the admissions criteria
was discretion based decided by the institutes themselves, and meritorious students were studying in
mediocre institutes due to lack of knowledge and lack of choice. UPSMF realized the need for an online
centralized admissions process which could help create and even field for applicants, make the
admissions criteria merit and choice-based, and enable allocation of meritorious students to higher
rated institutes. The reform is set to be launched this year.
